Qui Etes Vous?
Hi, I'm Gibron Whitney Shepperd, a graduate of SCAD and the CFDA future fashion program. I'm a California native, spending my childhood and teen years bouncing between the Valley and the Bay. Growing up in the diverse multicultural and multi-ethnic landscapes of California has undeniably influenced my perspective and interest in culture.
Someone once asked me what job I'd have if I were my 10-year-old self,— after not longer than a split second of reflection I remarked, it's the same things I do today. I've always been a creature committed to processing life through aesthetics, finding the “art” in everything.
Currently based in Atlanta, however, you might spot me exploring different corners of the U.S. Feel free to say hi if you do!

A Little More About Développer…
Cadence and Subscriptions
Once a week, on Saturday at noon, I’ll be publishing a newsletter. What about? Who knows! As a freemium member, you'll have access to the “Weekly Brief”— a segment of Dévolepper that is simply that, a briefing of my thoughts and activities from the week. Members who subscribe will have access to exclusive content and will be sent the quarterly zine.
Where does the name come from?
That second “p” is meant to be there—although, it looks like the English word the title of this newsletter comes from the French word meaning to expand. The term was first introduced to me in ballet classes in my youth. It’s a move in which-typically-the leg moves from passe outward into a full extension. When thinking of the name for this body of work, I recalled this move as it goes from a contracted state to an amplified one, the movement can be done in any direction, and it can also describe an action done by the whole body. I didn’t want to limit the direction I would inevitably and subconsciously go in.
Thank you for joining me on this exciting adventure.
Some final housekeeping…
